The CommDe Design Skill Test and interview on the 10th-11th January 2025, will be hosted onsite at the Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Architecture. All applicants must attend the onsite examination. Please prepare accordingly.
For oversea applicants, if you want to take the exam online, please submit the request in formal letter, stating reason and needs to email: admission2025@commde.com.
Accepted candidates must confirm their places by following these instructions;
- Accepted candidates must confirm your places via Google Form link below during 9.00-12.00, on 14th February 2025
- Upload a copy of identification card or passport with signature.
- Upload the proof of payment of confirmation fee.
- Fill the required information as described in the form.

For credit card payment, you do not need the proof of payment. You only need to state the date of payment.
from February 12, 2024 to February 14, 2025 before 11:30 a.m and capture the proof of payment for submission.
All applicants must have completed high schools, or presently are in their final year of high schools (Mathayom 6, grade 12 in the American system or year 13 in the British system), or passed one of the high school equivalent standard tests according to the condition set by CHULALONGKORN UNIVERSITY (e.g. GED, NCEA) which can process the high school equivalency through Chulalongkorn Academic Testing Center via website www.hsces.atc.chula.ac.th or call +66 96 384 5812.
Original Certificate, Transcript or Score Report must be provided for verification.
Applicants who achieve foreign high school diploma or those attending foreign high school, applicants must process the high school certificate equivalency verification via website www.hsces.atc.chula.ac.th. The process may take up to 7 business days. Therefore, please be warned that applicants need to plan the process carefully.
Please note that the evidence of high school certificate equivalency verification is one of the evidence for application.
Applicants must register into the TCAS system on the website http://Student.mytcas.com as Council of University Presidents of Thailand has designated. The system will open for the registration from Monday, 28th October 2024. Applicants must sign up in the system before submitting the applications to the university.
In the case of foreign applicants, applicants may use your passport number, then the system will create 13 numbers as your username which applicants must inform to the admissions officers while submitting the applications.
The confirmed applicants have to confirm their decisions again through TCAS
system during 5th-6th February, 2025 as Council of University President of Thailand has stated.
If the applicants have not confirmed their decision in TCAS68 system, this will be considered that applicants forfeit their opportunity to enroll in the Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts in Communication Design (International Program), Faculty of Architecture, to select applicants for the program in the Academic Year 2025 (Early Admmissions) (see more details for TCAS68 system on http://Student.mytcas.com)
- Applicants must register into the TCAS68 system on the website http://Student.mytcas.com (see more detail in Chulalongkorn Notification (TCAS) section).
- Applicants must register in the CommDe 2025 Online Application Site. Fill-out the application form and submit all required documents listed in the site during 25th November – 25th December 2024.
- Applicants must transfer 1,000 baht via bank transfer or mobile banking to account 041-8-23379-6, account name: Faculty of Architecture Chulalongkorn University (คณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย), Kasikorn Bank, and submit the proof of payment via CommDe 2025 Online Application Site.
Application evidence checklist;
- Portrait passport photo as JPEG or PDF. The photo must show your face clearly without glasses and hat.
- PDF copy of Thai national ID or Passport (for international application) with notarized signature and state that ‘uses only for applying CommDe’
- High school certificate or High school equivalency certificate
- High school transcript
- Score report of English proficiency and Mathematic ability
- Signed ‘CommDe Question Regarding Special Needs and Financial Support from the Programme’
- Signed ‘CommDe Admission 2025 Acknowledgement Form’

Applicants must submit a portfolio, strictly consisting of 12 works, and importantly, in accordance with the following regulations.
1. Works No.1 to No. 11 must be submitted in a strict order as the regulations prescribed below.
– Work No. 1 must be one drawing. Applicants can choose to submit a still-life drawing, or a portrait drawing, or a landscape drawing. The drawing can be executed by pencil, charcoal, pen or ink.Importantly, this one drawing must be executed by direct observation, not drawn from a photograph, including digital.
– Work No. 2 must be one photograph. This photograph should demonstrate the applicant’s basic understanding of composition, lighting, and visual storytelling.
– Work No. 3 must be one creative work created by digital tools. This can be a digital illustration, or a character design, or digital art including painting.
– Work No. 4 must be one graphic design work/project. This can be one poster design, or one logo design, or one typographic design. If the applicant wants to show various iterations or applications of this one graphic design work/project, they must be contained to one page.
– For works No. 5 to No. 11, the applicant must select only one work/project on one page. The applicant can choose works made in or through any media. Please note that on each page, the applicant can compose various but relevant and only essential versions of the same work on one single page.
– Work No. 12 must be created according to the following brief.
‘Create a visual work which will be sent out on a spaceship that will travel beyond our solar system. The work must be able to tell living creatures on any exoplanets about human beings on our earth, as well as including other information that the applicant thinks necessary’
This work must include a short description written in English and no longer than 50 words.
2. All 12 works must be recorded as files designated by the following items;
– A PDF file which contains exactly 12 pages of works (1 work per 1 page). The size of the file must not be over 25 MB.
– 12 JPEG files of applicant’s works (1 page per 1 file).
3. The size of every page on the PDF file is 1920 width x 1080 height Pixels (landscape orientation).
4. At the bottom-right of each page, include the applicant’s first name and surname in English.
5. For 12th work, applicants should read the brief and follow the instruction carefully.
6. Applicants must complete all 12 works in order to be eligible for the consideration.

Failing to comply with the format specified above may result in your portfolio being rejected from this admission procedure.
This section is your ‘opportunity’ to communicate with us why you are a suitable candidate for our International Bachelor Degree in Communication Design and why you should be selected for an interview. Your personal statement, which should be written as an essay, will be considered thoroughly, along with other information you submit to us. Make sure your personal statement is your own work. We will subject your application to plagiarism. Do not be tempted to copy another person’s application materials, or download your personal statement off the Internet. There could be serious consequences to using other people’s work.
Personal statement must be submitted along in the online application.
The reference format is not compulsory.
References should be written by someone who knows you academically, preferably your head teacher, principal, appropriate teacher, or academic advisor. If you cannot obtain an academic reference, you should ask a responsible person who knows you to provide your reference. For example, your employer, training officer, careers adviser, a teacher on a recent relevant further education course, or a senior colleague in employment or voluntary work. We will not accept references from family, other relatives, friends or tutors from cram schools.

In case of applicants use TOEFL or SAT or Duolingo score, applicant must contact ETS or College Board or Duolingo to send applicant’s exam result through electronic channel directly to the International Program in Communication Design before filling the online application.
***In case if applicants cannot take part in any exam, please contact Chulalongkorn University Academic Testing Center, which they will open a special session for aptitude test. The score from the test can be used to apply with international programs in Chulalongkorn University***
All applicants must submit an original certificate of one of the following English test scores:
TOEFL (Internet-Based) with a minimum of 79

Duolingo Test Score Reporting must be sent to Chulalongkorn University, CommDe, Faculty of Architecture.
In case of SAT/TOEFL/Duolingo, applicants must send the official score report from examination host. CommDe will only consider official score report from host as verified score.
All applicant must submit an original certificate of one of the following math test scores:
CU-AAT (Math Section) with a minimum 450
or
SAT (Math) with a minimum of 490

In case of SAT, applicants must send the official score report from examination host. CommDe will only consider official score report from host as verified score.
Expiring Date of Test Scores
The scores of tests can be used within only 2 years, and this must be within the last day of this application.
The 1,000 THB application fee can be paid in several ways.
